1,022,370. Selective printing; feeding webs. ENGLISH ELECTRIC-LEO-MARCONI COMPUTERS Ltd. Jan. 11, 1965 [Oct. 14, 1963], No. 40500/63. Headings B6B and B6F. In a high speed printer having a series of type-wheels 5, Fig. 1 (not shown), a record web 9 is fed from a supply 10, through a reservoir 12 to a container 15, and is prevented from backward movement (caused by the type-wheels) by a hold-back device 13. This device comprises an upper bar 20, Fig. 2 (not shown), mounted on a lower bar 21 with a through hole 22. The bar 21 is slotted at 23 for a pawl 24 having radius ends 25, 26 such that movement of the web is unhindered in its forward travel but it cannot travel backwardly.
