Abstract
102,167. Mitchell, H. E. Jan. 15, 1916. Plug connectors. -In flush mounting of electric wall sockets within wall boxes 16, Figs. II. & III., buried within the plaster of a wall, faulty positioning of the wall boxes in relation to the wall surface is overcome by mounting the socket within the box upon a cradle 1 having flanges 6 which overlap the finished plaster 24, the cradle being secured within the box by screws 21. The cradle is bent from a sheet of mild steel to the form shown in Fig. II. At the corners the metal is slit and pressed inwards to form loops 14 to receive the fixing screws as an easy fit. The socket member is mounted upon a saddle piece 13 rivetted to the cradle which is clamped within the wall box by the screws 21. In the constructon shown in Fig. VII. the saddle piece is bent downwards to form a well 26 to accommodate a single screw 28 by means of which the cradle is secured to the wall box 32. In a modification the saddle is cranked so as to take two devices, for example, a wall plug and a switch of different depths.
