Abstract

1,021,658. Spring clips. CARR FASTENER CO., Ltd. Nov. 27, 1963 [Feb. 6, 1963], No. 4922/63. Heading E2B. [Also in Division F2] Means for retaining a wheel on a shaft comprises a spring steel disc-like clip having opposed, relatively yieldable, arms 1, 2 the inner edges 7a, 8a, of which are shaped to frictionally engage said shaft, and the free ends of which are overlapped and have opposed, axially directed, lugs 9a, 10a, which are squeezed as by pliers, to separate the arms to permit clip removal. The arms comprise flat outer portions 3a, 4a and part-dome inner portions 5a, 6a having the inner edges 7a, 8a defining an aperture of slightly less diameter than that of the shaft. The clip is assembled on the shaft by being forced over the shaft end.
