Abstract

Mounts and discharge devices; special shapes. - In closures or stoppers for bottles, flasks, glass tubes, &c., and of the kind in which a metal cap is sprung over projections on the neck of the bottle &c., the cap carries the closure or stopper which engages the orifice of the bottle &c. and is placed in position by pressing it downwardly so that openings in it engage projections on the bottle &c. The stopper proper is preferably carried by a pivoted spring-pressed lever extending sidewards from the cap, and the mouth of the tube &c. is preferably at one side and inclined outwardly so as to bring the lever into alinement with the receptacle. The invention is particularly applicable to flasks or tubes containing volatile liquids, such as ethyl chloride, chloroform, &c. As shown, the flask or tube a is formed with a ball b and two side ribs c, and the sleeve or cap e with two opposite openings i to engage the ball b and two opposite slits j to receive the ribs c. The spring- pressed lever stopper d carried by the cap e fits over the end of the cap and the end of the neck of the bottle &c. Instead of ribs c, depressions may be provided in the sides of the ball b to receive ribs on the inside of the sleeve e. The ball and ribs may be made in the form of a metal cap which is cemented &c. to the bottle. A ring or washer m may be provided to centre the tube g in the sleeve e.
