A high protein feed or food supplement is obtained by autolytic conversion of ground poultry offal such as heads, feet and viscera to a uniform paste or thick liquid by heating for a sufficiently long period at 136-140‹F, the optimum temperature being 139.5‹F. The conversion temperature is attained rapidly in order to obviate spoilage which would occur on prolonged exposure at lower temperatures. The product may be dried to a meal, and such meal may be pelletized.
