Abstract

1,020,335. Waveguide switches. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Aug. 11, 1964 [Sept. 4, 1963], No. 34992/63. Heading H1W. A waveguide switch comprises a reciprocating plunger 3 having two passages for establishing different circuits in the limiting positions of the switch. In the position shown, a common inlet port in the front face of casing 1 is connected by passage 14, which consists of a right-angle bend, to a port 16 in the top of the casing. In the other limiting position, the inlet port is connected by a straight passage 17 to a port in the rear face of the casing. The plunger may be operated by hydraulic or pneumatic cylinders 5, 7 and air cushioning may be provided by allowing leakage of compressed air in the space 10 past washers 11. The plunger may be coated with P.T.F.E. Solenoid operation is referred to.
