Abstract

The invention comprises compounds of the general formula <FORM:1019462/C2/1> (wherein R1 and R2 represent C1- 3 groups or-NR1R2 represents a heterocyclic group, and R3 represents a hydrogen atom or a C1- 3 alkyl group) and acid addition and mono- and bisquaternary ammonium salts thereof, and their preparation by condensing 3-azabicyclo[3,2,2] nonane with a compound of the formula <FORM:1019462/C2/2> (wherein Z represents a halogen atom), optionally followed by acid addition or quaternary ammonium salt formation. The quaternary ammonium salts are blood pressure lowering compounds having a prolonged effect.
