Insulation; solenoids.-Insulating-sleeves for electric transformers, consist of at least one thinwalled body of wound press-paper which is cut longitudinally and is sufficiently springy to allow the adjacent edges to be overlapped to adapt the sleeves to various sizes of cores. A number of such sleeves may be used together, with the longitudinal slits displaced angularly with respect to each other. The sleeves are made by passing a web of paper coated with adhesive through a winding-machine so as to unite the layers under pressure, a separating-layer free from adhesive being inserted after a certain number of layers, to produce sections or separate tubular bodies. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also the application of the sleeves to electric apparatus generally, for example, pole cores and the like and to cores. bobbins &c. of any cross-section, such as polygonal, oval, rectangular, square &c. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
