Tyres, elastic, and tyre covers, tools for removing and replacing.-An appliance for fixing and unfixing tyres, of the type in which a strained band or hoop holds the tyre to the rim of the wheel, comprises a bar a adapted to be passed transversely of the wheel under the band and provided with a raised member e adapted to lift the band, so that in moving the bar along, around the wheel, in the operation of fixing the tyre, the feet, beads, or ledges of the tyre pass from above the band to a position beneath it, and in the operation of unfixing the tyre, the feet, beads, or ledges of the tyre are liberated. In modified appliances, rollers are substituted for the plain upper surface of the member e. Ribs f are provided to keep the band on the member e. In a further modification, Fig. 4, a rod n, flat at one end o and round for the greater part of its length, carries a roller p for raising the band.
