Abstract

1,017,455. Heat exchanger tube supports. MOTALA VERKSTAD A.B. June 4, 1963 [July 8, 1962], No. 22165/63. Headings F4A and F4S. In a steam generator or other heat exchangers adjacent parallel rows of tubes are separated by two resilient steel support strips 8, 9 each pressed against the respective tube row by a corrugated resilient steel strip 10 fastened between them. The initial amplitude of the corrugations is greater than the free distance between adjacent parallel tangent planes of adjacent rows of tubes, whereby the strips 8, 9 are forced into a shape such as that shown. Desired staying forces may be obtained by varying the amplitude and thickness of the strip 10. Wrappings 11 are suitably placed around the bundle to hold the strips together and protect their ends.
