Abstract

<PICT:1016159/C6-C7/1> A material which has an increase in magnetic permeability with increased temperature at a particular range of temperature is used to operate a switch or valve. The material may be a manganese antimony compound with chromium added as described in the Physical Review Letters published by the American Physical Society, Vol. 4, pp. 509-511. The curves 34, 36 of Fig. 7 show the magnetization characteristics for materials with different chromium concentration as compared with Mn2Sb (curve 32). Tc is the Curie point.
