A tobacco or smoking product has its flavour improved by the addition of a small amount of hexahydro-2,5,5,8a-tetramethyl- 7-chromanone. The additives may be added to the tobacco in the form of a liquid suspension in an amount between 0.001 and 1.0% by weight and preferably between 0.005 and 0.03%.
