Abstract

The invention comprises compounds of the formula <FORM:1015921/C2/1> and salts thereof (wherein R is a tertiary amino group and one of R1, R2, R3, R4 and R5 is an alkoxy or aralkoxy group, the remainder being hydrogen) and their preparation by condensing the appropriate alkoxy- or aralkoxy-benzoyl halide with the appropriate 2-(CH2R)-cyclohexylamine in an organic solvent. Pharmaceutical compositions.-Certain of these benzamides are stated to possess anticonvulsant properties, and they may be made up into pharmaceutical compositions with suitable carriers. Solutions, suspensions, lotions, creams, tablets, pastes, emulsions and capsules are referred to. They may also contain sweetening, suspending, wetting and emulsifying agents, and preservatives.
