[Also in Division E2] An automatic change-giving device for use in coin-operated delivery apparatus comprises means 14 adapted upon the delivery of an article to reciprocate a slider 12 between top and bottom plates 8, 10 so as to push coins from a number of tubes 7 towards removal-apertures 11 in the bottom plate, each tube being connected to the top plate by bayonet devices consisting of studs 27 co-operating with a flange 24 provided on the bottom of the tube. The bottom coin of each stack is supported on the bottom plate 10 when the device is inoperative. When a coin has been inserted and a wheel 1, Fig. 1, rotated to distribute an article such as a bottle through an aperture 6<SP>1</SP>, a wheel 3, which is geared with the wheel 1, reciprocates the slider 12 through a lever 14 pivoted at 15; a coin 22<SP>1</SP>, as shown in Fig. 5A, or more than one coin, is thus removed from a tube 7 through an offset aperture 11. Instead of the plate 24 being provided with keyholeslots 26 and a spring-loaded locking plunger 30 as shown, it may be provided with recesses 26<SP>1</SP>, Fig. 8, and slitted portions 36 which are arranged to spring over the studs 27 to lock the tube in position when the latter is rotated. Each tube is readily interchangeable to suit the change-giving or currency requirements while the bottom plate is arranged to have apertures 11 corresponding to the largest diameter of coin and the slider 12 a thickness corresponding to the thinnest coin.
