Abstract

1,015,350. Time switches. CONTROLS COMPANY OF AMERICA. April 17, 1964 [June 13, 1963], No. 16111/64. Heading H2B. The seeking of a start position by a time switch by means of a wiper contact running over a printed circuit is rendered more accurate by providing a fine adjustment of the wiper position with respect to the motor on which it is mounted. The drive gear 16 for a cam bank (Fig. 1, not shown) carries a wiper plate 32 having fingers 30 for co-operation with a printed circuit (Fig. 3, not shown). The plate 32 is located on a shaft 44 by spring-like tabs 46 and is guided by undercut projections 36 to allow angular adjustment by an eccentric lug 40 acting on slot 38 when a pin 42 is rotated from the other side of gear 16. A face on pin 42 and a mating surface of an accommodating recess in gear 16 have co-operating serrations (Figs. 4, 6 and 7, not shown) to maintain the pin in its adjusted position. The pin 42 is retained in the recess in gear 16 by the resilience of plate 32.
