Abstract

A dry water-disposable pigmentary composition for use in water-based coating compositions comprises an inorganic pigment intimately associated with chemical compounds which when contacted with water react to cause an effervescent evolution of gas, said compounds and their reaction products in water being innocuous to the constituents of water-based coating compositions. The compounds may be sodium bicarbonate and citric or tartaric acid.
