Abstract

101,509. Huber, A., and M³ller, E. March 22, 1916. Bottles, non-refillable. - In a non-refillable bottle with a closure comprising a body with liquid-passages and having a cavity containing a ball adapted to weight a closing - plate, the body 4 and the closing-plate 11 co-operate with a common seat 3 integral with the bottle neck 1, and the cavity 5 has a steep surface 6 and a less-steep upwardlyinclined surface 7; the ball 12 presses on the plate 11 as long as the ball bears against the surface 7, but moves immediately and completely out of contact with the plate when it comes in contact with the steeper surface 6. The glass or other body 4 has a mouth 9 to receive a stopper and is secured in the conical mouth 2 of the bottle by welding or cementing. The under surface of the glass or other plate 11 is ground to co-operate with the ground seat 3. When the bottle is horizontal, the glass or other ball 12 bears against the plate 11; but on tilting the bottle slightly beyond the horizontal, the ball immediately passes into the narrower portion of the cavity 5 and the plate 11 assumes an inclined position, allowing the liquid to pass out through the passages 8 in the body 4.
