Abstract

Detergent compositions comprise (a) 5 to 20 parts by weight of a condensate of a sucroglyceride with 0.5 to 10 parts its weight of ethylene oxide and (b) 10 to 60 parts by weight of a salt (e.g. a sodium or potassium salt) of orthophosphoric, pyrophosphoric or polyphosphoric acids or their mixtures, the parts by weight referring to the total composition. Other ingredients are buffer mixtures, sodium silicate, urea, a water-soluble cellulose derivative, e.g. sodium carboxy methyl cellulose, sodium sulphate, sodium chloride, a wetting agent, e.g. an alkyl arylsulphonate, an oxidant, e.g. sodium perborate or percarbonate and an optical bleaching agent. The sucroglycerides are mixtures of sucroesters and glycerides resulting from the transesterification of saccharose with triglycerides.
