Abstract

1,013,502. Lubricating. P. & M. CO. (ENGLAND) Ltd. Oct. 6, 1964 [Oct. 11, 1963], No. 40315/63. Addition to 967,900. Heading F2A. The railway track switch lubricating or deicing apparatus of the parent Specification includes one or more tubular delivery elements 11 mounted on a stock rail 1, lubricating or deicing fluid being pumped through and discharged from the element to flow on to an associated slide chair or base plate 6 for a switch rail. Each element comprises a bolt 12 with an axial duct 16 to which a supply tube or hose 10 is connected by adaptors 23, 24 containing a non-return valve 25. Each bolt passes through the web of the stock rail and an abutment block 15 carried by the associated slide-chair, and has a head 17 at the inner side of the rail and a nut 19 at the outer side of the block or vice-versa. The valve may be disposed at the outlet of duct 16.
