Abstract
1,013,072. Suction end catcher. E. BREUNING. June 10, 1964 [June 11, 1963], No. 24006/64. Headings DID and D1F. Suction apparatus for removing broken roving ends from a speed or flyer frame comprises suction tubes 6 mounted on a stationary part of the frame and extending below the flyers 9 adjacent the presser fingers 9<SP>1</SP>, each tube having at least one opening 7 through which roving breaks are collected and removed; fly and otherimpurities are also removed by the tubes. In the form shown the tubes 6 are rotatable about an axis 14 e.g. to facilitate doffing and donning and locking means may be provided to prevent movement of the tubes except when the flyers are stopped and in an appropriate position. The spindles are arranged in two parallel rows, 3/4 and 5, displaced by half a spindle spacing and the opening 7 in each suction tube is arranged equidistant from two adjacent spindles in the back row and one in the front. In an alternative form the tube 6 is fixed and has two orifices therein while in a further form the suction tube extends vertically.
