Abstract

1,011,869. Combine-harvesters. J. H. BLOM, [trading as BLOM FOSS]. May 18, 1962 [May 18, 1961], No. 19339/62. Heading A1F. A combine-harvester comprises a motorised undercarriage 1 which detachably supports a reaper-conveyer mechanism 2 and a thrashing mechanism 3. The reaper mechanism is supported on bearings 20, 21 and can be adjusted in height by means of lifting arms 24 which have rollers 23 to engage guide bars 22 on the reaper. The thrashing mechanism rests on points 15, 17 in mounting 16, 18 secured by locking devices and may be detached from the undercarriage by first providing supporting stays 27 at the rear of the mechanism then moving the lifting arms 24 by means of a hydraulic cylinder 26 so that they engage beneath a supporting-plate 31, lifting the mechanism clear of the undercarriage and then supporting it on further stays 32 which are bent outwards to allow passage of the rear wheels of the undercarriage between them. A screw jack may replace the cylinder 26.
