Abstract

1,011,713. Cotters. GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION. Sept. 21, 1964 [Sept. 26, 1963], No. 38511/64. Heading F2H. [Also in Division F1] A turbine or compressor blade 8 is locked in an axially extending serrated slot 6 in the rotor periphery 4 by a metal key 20 having a stem 22 fitting in a notch 18 in the blade and a base 24 engaging a circumferential groove 14 in the rotor. The key is held in position by serrations 26, 28 engaging the serrated root 12 of the adjacent blade. The key may be a sheet metal stamping or an extrusion.
