A vehicle has a roof aperture closable by a fabric cover secured to the rear edge of the aperture and carried by a forward cap member 15 and intermediate roof struts connected to the leaf springs 33. The transverse supports are carried by shoes such as 32 sliding along the inner flange of a channel 5 which surrounds the aperture and is formed integrally with the roof 1. The channel 5 is connected with outwardly directed channels 6 so that any water which penetrates between the cover and the roof is drained to the outside of the vehicle.
