Abstract

1,008,342. Keyboard switches. W. HOLZER. May 28, 1963 [June 27, 1962], No. 21273/63. Heading H2B. A plurality of slides, such as 1 and 17 to 21, are located between plates 35 and 36 held on either side of a frame (not shown) by pegs 31 having slots 33 in which spring clips are inserted (Fig. 3, not shown). Cams 9 urge the slides transversely when any of keys 8, 22 to 25 is depressed against springs (not shown). Conventional latching mechanism (not shown) retains a key depressed until another key is actuated. A printed-circuit board 29 is also held in position by the pegs 31 and carries spring blades 43 the ends of which pass through holes 41 to be operated by recesses 12 to 16 in the slides. Contacts 27 on blades 43 co-operate with contacts 30 also on the printed-circuit board. The assembly may be combined with a timer and other switches (Figs. 4 and 5, not shown) for programme control of washing or other machines. The slides may have extenions for mechanical operation of further switches or control members and they may obturate indicator lamps or be coloured so that a switching state may be indicated by their position.
