Heading.G1F A liquid level protractor comprises a flat rigid rectangular body having a circular transparent area 5 within its edges, furnished on both faces with a circular graduated angular degree scale 6 with diametral hair lines 7 crossing at right angles to one another and each being parallel to a pair of opposite edges of the body, a hollow chamber being visible through the area 5 and containing a liquid 8 which exactly half-fills the hollow chamber. The chamber is formed between two flat plates of transparent plastics material e.g. of Perspex., (Registered Trade Mark), the plates being in rectangular opaque rings. The liquid 8 is preferably coloured. Alternatively the hollow chamber may be formed as a well in the body enclosed by one plate of transparent material. The diameter of the hollow chamber may be greater than that of the scale 6 to allow for meniscus effects, and if desired the hollow chamber may be square.
