Abstract

1,006,244. Spin driers. SOC. ANON DES ETABLISSEMENTS LEVIVIER. Aug. 28, 1962 [Aug. 29, 1961], No. 33064/62. Heading F4G. A spin-drier comprises a doublewalled casing 1 1 -1 2 , Fig. 1, for the passage of steam therethrough and shock absorber mountings 2 to eliminate vibrations of the drier, each mounting consisting of a base 2 1 , Fig. 2, separated from a drier supporting plate 2 2 by a stack of alternately arranged rigid steel plates 2 3 , 2 4 and 2 5 and resilient plates 2 7 of flexible material the upper plate 2<SP>3</SP> is secured beneath the plate 2 2 by bolts 31 and the lower plate 2 5 is secured on the base 2 1 by bolts 3 2 . The plate 2 2 has a central boss 2 10 with a bore 2 9 for a bolt 5 securing the drier to the plate and reinforcing rods extend from the boss 2 10 . Resilient abutment members 4 having a rubber element 4 4 on a threaded spindle 4 1 in a threaded hole of a support 4 2 are arranged to adjustably limit lateral drier displacement. The drier also comprises a three-phase electric driving motor having means for changing the connectors of the two stator phase windings to provide for braking of the motor.
