Abstract

1,025,820. Spin driers. E. BONN. March 16, 1965 [March 20, 1964; May 6, 1964], No. 10998/65. Heading F4G. The drum 3, drive shaft 2 and drive motor 1 of a spin-drier are suspended as a unit from below an internal partition 4 of the main casing (not shown) by resilient suspension means 5 and studs 7 of rubber or the like resilient material are interposed between the partition 4 and the suspended unit below the partition and project upwardly with a slight clearance beyond the ends of the stubs to limit tilting of the mass. The studs 7 and suspension means 5 alternate, with equal spacing, around the periphery of a plate 6 which carries the motor. The suspension means 5 comprise wide rubber loops supported by pins 9 in brackets 8 on partition 4 and plate 6 with their widths tangential with respect to the axis of the shaft. The loops may be secured by clamping the ends of the loops between pairs of plates, Figs. 3a and 3b (not shown), or the loops may be replaced by pairs of oppositely inclined coil springs, Fig. 4 (not shown), or by dumb-bell shaped rubber mouldings, Fig. 5 (not shown), having a transverse hole at each end to receive a supporting bolt.
