In an arrangement comprising a deck 14 supported by beams 13 with a grating 12 for the distribution of the air stream when ventilating or cooling the cargo spaces in ships, whereby the air flows vertically upwards through the grating and the goods stored thereon and where the space 22 under the grating serves as a distributing or receiving duct, the deck is suspended as by welding 20 to the bottom edges of the beams and the grating rests on the beams which thus act as bearers. The deck, shown for refrigerated cargo space, has insulating material 21 on its underside.
