A ship for carrying insulated refrigerated containers in uninsulated holds has cooling units 2 attached to walls or bulkheads in the hold and supplying cold air to duct 3. Insulated containers 8 are stacked one above another and connected to ducts 3 at unions 7. Ducts 3 are double for supply and return air and are internally insulated.
