Abstract

1,005,103. Magnetic disc records. BUROMASCHINENWERK SOMMERDA VEB. Jan. 18, 1963, No. 2291/63. Heading G5R. A magnetic store comprises a magnetizable foil 3, Fig. 1, stretched over an annular projection 5a of a disc 5 so that it is flat and maintains a constant spacing from a recording head K. The stretching means may comprise clamping rings 1 and 2 which are bolted to the disc 5 with the interposition of a resilient ring 6. The foil 3 may be of metal or synthetic plastic which may have the required magnetic properties or Which may be coated with material having magnetic properties. The disc 5 may be attached to a rotor or may be formed integrally with a rotor. A rotor may be provided with a disc 5 on each side, Fig. 3 (not shown). A plurality of stores may be arranged in one plane with a common driving means, Figs. 4a and 4b (not shown).
