Abstract
1,004,711. Delay connectors. ETABLISSEMENTS DAVEY BICKFORD SMITH & CIE. June 20, 1962 [Sept. 11, 1961], No. 23721/62. Heading F3A. A reversible delay connecting element for explosive charges, comprises a tubular casing 1, which may be of aluminium or copper, and tubes 2, 4 and 4<SP>1</SP> made of soft metal or alloy, such as lead or antimoniated lead or of plastics such as polyethylene. Tube 2 is empty and tubes 4, 4<SP>1</SP> contain delay material 5, 5<SP>1</SP> such as red lead and silicon or red lead and boron and detonating compositions 6, 6<SP>1</SP> of, for example, lead azide or lead azide and lead trinitroresorcinate. Caps 7, 7<SP>1</SP> which may, for example, be of aluminium or copper foil separate the tubes 4, 4<SP>1</SP> from lengths of detonating fuze cord, 8, 81 secured to the casing 1 at 9, 9<SP>1</SP>.
