Abstract

<PICT:1004704/C6-C7/1> In galvanizing metal strip by the hot dipcoating process, the strip is passed continuously between the pickling plant and the hot dip-coating plant without reeling and unreeling intermediate said plants. Metal strip 6 in loops passes through a pickling tower 2, where it is sprayed with acid, a rinsing plant 8, and drying plant 9, before entering a heating furnace 12, mounted adjacent the hot dip-coating plant 3. The coated strip is then dried, washed and reeled. For the "wet" process applied to the pickled strip before galvanizing, the heating furnace 12 and drying plant 9 are omitted.
