Abstract
100,210. Bracker, O. Feb. 22, 1915, [Convention date]. F i x e d - abutment type; regulating. - A rotary engine having outwardly-sliding vanes c is provided with two rotary valves d, f arranged side by side within the casing and adapted to control the Lumber of working cells connected with the inlet e and the outlet g respectively and to regulate the points at which expansion begins and ends. Partly expanded steam at a uniform pressure may be withdrawn at an intermediate point by a branch l, the tapping point being varied by a rotary valve i, Fig. 3. The slot h in the valve f may be made long enough to connect the inlet to the discharge so that the engine when used as a compressor could run idly. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also the constructions shown in Figs. 1 and 2 (cancelled). The rotary engine described in Specification 3888/15 having a sliding valve d, Fig. 1 (cancelled), adapted to connect the inlet conduit e with one or more of the cells between the outwardly sliding vanes, is provided with a second rotary slide f having a recess h which regulates the communication of the cells with the exhaust g. In a modification, Fig. 2 (cancelled), regulation is effected by tapping the motive fluid at constant pressure at an intermediate point by means of a separate discharge branch l communicating with a recess k in the valve i. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
