Abstract
The invention comprises compounds of general formula <FORM:1001355/C2/1> wherein lower alkyl radicals have 1-7 carbon atoms; and their preparation as exemplified, comprising (1) reaction of corresponding anthranilic acids or their reactive derivatives with esterifying agents, or (2) reaction of 2-halo or amino-benzoic acid esters with, respectively, 3-amino or halo-trifluoromethylbenzenes. N - (3 - Trifluoromethylphenyl)anthranilic acid chloride is prepared from the acid with thionyl chloride; on reaction with the sodium salt it yields the acid anhydride. N - (3 - Trifluoromethylphenyl)anthranilic acid and its salts are obtainable by hydrolysis of the lower alkyl esters. Pharmaceutical compositions comprise compounds I with diluents and excipients. Oral (tablets, pills, sachets, powders, capsules) and parenteral (solutions, suspensions) administration is mentioned. The compounds have anti-inflammatory, hypocholesteremic and anthelmintic activity.
