Abstract

1,001,339. Feeding vehicles to and from turntables. DEMAG A.G. July 27, 1964, No. 29923/64. Heading B8E. [Also in Divisions B7 and F2] A turntable 6 rotatable about pin 8 by a wheel 9 driven by motor 9, carries two friction wheels 2 driven by motors 3 pivoted at 5 to brackets 7; the turntable is guided by rollers 11, 12 and a guide rail 20. As a tub runs on to the turntable from track 19 it is decelerated by units 2, 3 which incorporate a friction brake; the tub actuates a track switch 13 to start motor 10 to turn the turntable. Before reaching a final position a trip 22 on turntable operates a contact 15 to slow down motor 10 which is finally stopped by a second contact 16, the brakes being applied to the motor. Contact 16 also energizes the friction units 2, 3 to accelerate tub 1 off the turntable on to track 17. The tub actuates track switch 18 which changes units 2, 3 to " braking " and causes motor 10 to return the turntable to its initial position adjacent track 19 where it is slowed down and stopped by further contacts 15, 16.
