Abstract
1,000,449. Regulating fuel supply to burners. LEE SO YEE. Feb. 24, 1964 [June 21, 1963], No. 24870/63. Heading F4T. Fuel supply to a stove is automatically controlled according to temperature of apparatus heated by the stove by the closing of an electric circuit which is subsequently opened to conserve electric power. When the temperature reaches a certain value in a boiler two contacts are closed by a bi-metallic strip to energize relay 7, Fig. 2, which attracts lever 8 and allows a spring 10 to rotate lever 9 which opens a valve 11, pressure being released from tank 12 and fuel ceases to flow to a burner through pipe 14. Contacts 21, 22 are opened on movement of the lever to open the circuit. The lever may hold a valve knob against rotation and on energization of the relay a spring is able to rotate the knob and close a valve in a fluid supply line, Fig. 3, not shown. In a wick stove, Figs. 6, 7, wicks are mounted in tubes 76 fixed to a plate 75 and slidable in fixed tubes 77, the plate 75 having a plate 74 with a notch 73 engaged by a rod 72. The rod 72 is moved upwardly against spring 78 to engage in slot 81 in lever 82, Fig. 7, to rotate lever 82 about 83 to engage nose 84 with lever 85 to hold rod 72 and the wicks raised. At a predetermined temperature relay 86 is energized to attract lever 85 against the action of spring 87 which is also connected to lever 82 to rotate lever 82; spring 78 can then lower rod 72 and plate 75 to extinguish the wicks. Contacts comprising rod 88 on lever 82 and a leaf-spring 89 are opened on rotation of lever 82 by spring 87 to open the circuit including relay 86. Relay 86 can be energized to extinguish the wicks by manual depression of button 91, Fig. 6, to close contacts 92, 93.
