Abstract

1,000,147. Orientating circular articles. DUNLOP RUBBER CO. Ltd. July 13, 1962 [July 17, 1961], No. 26947/62. Heading B8S. [Also in Division B3] Wheels 1 or other circular articles having a discontinuity such as a weld 2 on their surfaces and requiring to be fed, e.g. to a trimming machine, with the discontinuities in a particular orientation are delivered in turn to rest on support rollers 7 in an orientating device 5. An arm 9, rotatable about an axle 8 coaxial with the articles on the rollers, is then driven in the direction f from the initial position shown through just over one revolution so that the feeler 12 carried thereby will contact the discontinuity 2 and, irrespective of its original position, transfer it to a " twelve-o'clock " position.
