Abstract

This invention relates to a washing basket (10), and in particular to a washing basket (10) which can be converted into a substantially flat platform for use in the airing and/or drying of clothing articles. When configured as a washing basket the device can be used to transport and store washing and other desired articles, and when configured as a platform the device can lie substantially flat and support textile articles as they are dried and/or aired. The washing basket (10) has two opposed side panels (16), the opposed side panels (16) being movable relative to one another between a first position in which they define a volume therebetween and in which the washing basket can be used as a receptacle for clothing articles and the like, and a second position in which the opposed side panels are substantially coplanar and define a substantially flat platform.
