L’invention est un certificat d’authenticité dont tout ou partie est imprévisible par le public -par exemple parce qu’il est signé numériquement, ou parce qu’il comporte une partie définie aléatoirement - d’un document comportant la référence d’une description dite dégradée comme par exemple une photo d’identité, cette référence et cette description dégradée ne comportant pas d’information permettant d’établir un lien avec le certificat ou les informations qu’il contient. Ce certificat se présente avantageusement comme un code-barres pour permettre une identification rapide d’une personne, ou l’authentification d’un document ou d’un produit, mais il peut aussi être conservé dans la mémoire d’un ordinateur.
