As shown in FIG. 8b, the operator positions the cylinder 2 horizontally and arranges the projecting member 41 for locking and unlocking, against the detacher D. However, the cylinder 2 still remains in its closed state, preventing any risk of accidental fall of the object, unlike if the cylinder opened as soon as the projecting magnetic member 41 was placed against the detacher. As visible in FIG. 8c, the operator then presses lightly with his finger against one of the bases 20A of the cylinder (in a horizontal direction, parallel to the axis of the cylinder), which translates the projecting member 41 and unlocks the lugs 27 for their removal from the body 40, the presence of the spring 23 causing the immediate deployment of the second part 21 to open the anti-theft device 1 (Figure 8d). The user can then remove the article from inside the anti-theft device 1 which has remained held laterally by the two bases 20A and 20B of the first part 20 of the open cylinder.
