Description
The present invention relates to a decontaminating composition. More particularly, the invention relates to a composition having both bactericidal, fungicidal and virucidal properties as well as methods for obtaining and uses of such a composition.
Decontamination and cleaning are operations of great importance in various fields, for example in the medical, hospital, industrial or transport fields, for the sanitation of water, air or all types of surfaces. .
Ces opérations sont d’autant plus nécessaires suite à la pandémie de COVID-19 liée au coronavirus SARS-CoV-2.These operations are all the more necessary following the COVID-19 pandemic linked to the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.
In modern societies, an increasingly large quantity of materials, surfaces or objects falling within the scope of the invention is dedicated to being handled or brought into contact daily and frequently by/with a large number of people and /or contaminated by different types of products.
By way of illustration and not limitation, mention may in particular be made of wagons, seats, work surfaces, floors, walls, ceilings, ventilation grilles, tanks, machines, cold rooms or offices, or all types of objects, for example made of plastic, such as toys, computer keyboards and mice, care, medical or health instruments, or tools.
These surfaces, materials or objects can carry germs, likely to generate diseases and contaminate any person or object in contact with them. Consequently, it would be advantageous to be able to neutralize all types of germs in a short time.
For obvious reasons, the desired neutralization must be effective and for a long time. In addition, it must be easy to implement.
Thus, in general, a decontaminating composition must have significant bactericidal, fungicidal and virucidal activities and over the widest possible spectrum of germs.
Many types of cleaning and decontaminating compositions have already been proposed. Nevertheless, these formulations, although giving satisfaction, have, due to their composition or their manufacture, notorious disadvantages, for example from the point of view of their toxicity and/or their impact on the environment.
Indeed, today there is a growing demand for so-called natural products because they use natural ingredients, of natural origin and/or certified organic, as essential components.
Nevertheless, the performance of natural products is often judged to be inferior to that of conventional products.
In addition, today's society is also in demand for products whose design and/or use have the lowest possible environmental impact.
Thus, it remains difficult to design natural decontaminant products, whose environmental impact is as low as possible, and which have performances equivalent to or superior to those of conventional products.
In particular, the known products have limited activity spectra with respect to germs. In addition, they do not adapt to all types of surfaces, supports and/or environments.
Consequently, it would be desirable to have decontaminating compositions, based on natural ingredients, of natural origin or even certified organic, which are effective and whose activity is prolonged over time.
The object of the present invention is precisely to meet these needs.
- au moins 1 % en poids, de préférence au moins 5 % en poids, d’eugénol ;
- au moins 0,1 % en poids, de préférence au moins 0,5 % en poids, d’acétate d’eugénol ;
- au moins 0,1 % en poids, de préférence au moins 0,4 % en poids, de carvacrol ;
- au moins 0,01 % en poids, de préférence au moins 0,05 % en poids, d’oligomères proanthocyanidoliques ;
- au moins 1 % en poids, de préférence au moins 3 % en poids, d’oleuropéine ;
- au moins 1 % en poids, de préférence au moins 2 % en poids, d’hydroxytyrosol ;
The present invention thus relates to a decontaminating composition having both bactericidal, fungicidal and virucidal properties, comprising as active components:

- at least 1% by weight, preferably at least 3% by weight, of oleuropein;
- at least 1% by weight, preferably at least 2% by weight, of hydroxytyrosol;
relative to the total weight of the composition.
According to a preferred embodiment, the active components eugenol, eugenol acetate, carvacrol, proanthocyanidolic oligomers, oleuropein, hydroxytyrosol, are contained in plant and/or natural elements and/or of natural origin. It is understood that plant elements cover the entire plant world, from plants to trees.
Advantageously, a decontaminating composition according to the invention has both bactericidal, fungicidal and virucidal properties and can be adapted to any type of support and/or environment to be decontaminated.
A decontaminating composition according to the invention is effective and has a very broad spectrum of action against pathogens. In addition, it has very good antimicrobial characteristics with limited toxicity. Advantageously, its effectiveness is durable over time.
Indeed, a decontaminating composition according to the invention can be advantageously obtained from non-toxic biological materials, and is biodegradable. Thus, a composition according to the invention can be ingested by humans and animals.
It has the advantage of being self-preserved, i.e. it does not require the presence of preservatives due to its antimicrobial characteristics. It thus has decontaminating characteristics that are simultaneously bactericidal, fungicidal and virucidal.
Finally, a composition according to the invention can easily be obtained from inexpensive components, and is environmentally friendly.

a) une première étape de broyage desdits éléments, notamment végétaux, préalablement séchés, ladite étape de broyage conduisant à une poudre ;
The present invention also relates to a process for the manufacture of a decontaminating composition as described above, in which the six active components eugenol, eugenol acetate, carvacrol, proanthocyanidolic oligomers, oleuropein, hydroxytyrosol, are contained in plant elements and/or natural and/or of natural origin, said method comprising:

The decontaminating compositions comprising, in vegetable form, additional active components, can be prepared in the same way as that described above.
For certain forms of the decontaminating composition, such as obtaining a biodecontaminating liquid, for example, cold maceration is appropriate so as not to destroy or weaken the active elements. Typically a 72 hour maceration is effective.
The maceration step at room temperature is carried out in an aqueous, oily or alcoholic solution.
If the solution is an aqueous solution, this is used to isolate the water-soluble elements.
The steep solution is then usually separated from the residual inert plant material.
The maceration solution can be used to form a solid product, by impregnating, by deposition or absorption, a vegetable or mineral support.

The resulting product can then be dried, for example in a dehumidifying oven or else stored in wet form, depending on the applications.
La matière végétale résiduelle inerte utilisée comme support selon l’invention sera habituellement séchée.The inert residual plant material used as a support according to the invention will usually be dried.
For certain applications, in particular for cleaning floors under pressure, the residual inert vegetable matter will advantageously be left as it is, without drying, and the decontaminating composition will be in the form of a liquid suspension.
The choice of the form and the nature of the inert support is made according to the intended application. For example, the inert support will advantageously be in the form of large-diameter beads for filtrations, in the form of fabric to obtain a biodecontaminating fabric, etc.
In the case where the decontaminating composition comprises thymol contained in thyme, the latter can be added, once dried, during the grinding step at the same time as the other plant elements.
In the clove, it is advantageous to use only the head but it is possible to use the whole flower.
In the case where the decontaminating composition comprises a mineral salt, the latter is ground, down to a particle size of approximately 0.1 to 0.5 mm, and it is then added to the solution containing the ground plant elements, before , during or after maceration.

All culture tubes were incubated at 35°C for 24 hours. Twenty-four hours before testing, the bacterial challenge organism was inoculated into 500 mL of nutrient broth and incubated at 35°C. After incubation, the culture was centrifuged at 2500 rpm for 10 minutes. The supernatant was discarded and the remaining microbial pellet was washed three times in sterile buffered deionized water (SBDW). After the third centrifugation step, the pellet was resuspended in 50 ml of SBDW. An approximate cell density of the suspension was obtained either by direct staining with acridine orange or by plating on growth medium.
