Abrégé descriptif : L’invention concerne un appareil et un procédé de détermination du taux d’hématocrite et/ou du taux d’hémoglobine d’un liquide en circulation dans une portion tubulaire (2), le procédé comprenant : - l’émission de faisceaux lumineux en direction de la portion tubulaire (2) avec au moins deux sources lumineuses (11 ; 21), chacune des deux sources lumineuses (11 ; 21) étant configurée pour émettre des faisceaux lumineux selon une longueur d’onde d’émission choisie pour correspondre à un point isobestique de l’hémoglobine ; - la réception de signaux lumineux transmis à travers la portion tubulaire (2) avec au moins deux capteurs lumineux (12 ; 22), chaque capteur lumineux (12 ; 22) étant associé à l’une des deux sources lumineuses (11 ; 21) ; - calcul du taux d’hématocrite et/ou du taux d’hémoglobine du liquide par un traitement des signaux lumineux reçus par les capteurs lumineux (12 ; 22) ;caractérisé en ce que la puissance d’émission d’au moins une des sources lumineuses (11 ; 21) est modifiée au cours de la détermination du taux d’hématocrite et/ou du taux d’hémoglobine en fonction du taux d’hématocrite et/ou respectivement du taux d’hémoglobine calculé pour le liquide.
