La présente invention concerne un procédé de diagnostic in vitro d’une infection à pneumocoque (Streptococcus pneumoniae) comprenant au moins deux étapes de détection d’un antigène de pneumocoques : (i) sur un échantillon de sécrétions issues des voies respiratoire d’un patient, et (ii) sur le même échantillon après dilution.
