Description
Plus particulièrement, le dispositif est du type tube déformable compressible («squeeze tube»).The present invention relates to a device for packaging and dispensing cosmetic products. More particularly, the device is of the compressible deformable tube type (“squeeze tube”).
La présente demande est plus spécifiquement destinée aux produits cosmétiques d’hygiène corporelle utilisés dans des milieux particulièrement humides tels que les savons, gels douche, shampooings et dentifrices.“Cosmetic product” means any product as defined in Regulation (EC) No. 1223/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of November 30, 2009, relating to cosmetic products. This application is more specifically intended for cosmetic personal hygiene products used in particularly humid environments such as soaps, shower gels, shampoos and toothpastes.
In general, such a compressible tube comprises a tubular body, made of a flexible material having a first open end equipped with a dispensing head, and a second closed end. The assembly defines an interior volume intended to contain the cosmetic product. The dispensing head conventionally has a neck on which a cap is fixed. The second end is generally closed after filling the cosmetic product by pinching said tubular partition and welding or gluing the opposite portions pinched together.
The tubular body can be made of many types of materials. It is in particular possible to produce this body by extruding a plastic material (polyethylene, polypropylene for example) directly in the form of a tube, sections of which are cut to the desired length. A first end of the section is equipped with the dispensing head while the second end is left open for filling the tube with the cosmetic product. After filling, the tube is closed by pinching the second end and welding or gluing the portions thus pinched together.
The tubular body may also be made from a sheet or strip of material wound on itself in order to form said tube, a first longitudinal edge of the strip of material then being joined, by gluing or welding for example, to an opposite longitudinal edge of said strip of flexible material. Once the tube has been formed, a first end is equipped with the dispensing head while the opposite second end is closed by pinching and welding after filling. The documents EP1679265A1, US4123312A, WO2013088416A1 describe such methods of manufacturing compressible tubes.
Un tel tube est décrit par exemple dans le document FR2984092A1.Depending on the nature of the cosmetic product contained in the compressible tube, it may be desirable to use specific materials having, for example, an oxygen barrier function. These materials with specific functionalities are frequently used within a complex multilayer material. Multilayer materials are thus known comprising an aluminum strip disposed within inner and outer layers of plastic materials. Such a tube is described for example in the document FR2984092A1.
In order to limit the quantity of plastic materials used, complex multilayer cardboard-based materials have been known for many years. Such materials are marketed in particular by the company Tetrapak® and are frequently used to package food products in the form of bricks. The use of cardboard has many advantages, particularly in terms of weight, cost, flexibility and recyclability. The cardboard layer(s) are protected from the outside and from the liquid contained in the brick by impermeable polyethylene layers.
However, from the moment such a material is cut, it has edges whose edge exposes the cardboard layer (cellulosic). In a humid environment, the latter is then able to absorb water and thus swell and deform, which risks altering the integrity of the material over time.
Due to the presence of these highly hydrophilic cellulosic layers, this type of material is difficult to use and store in environments with high humidity, which limits their use for bathroom products for example, and in particular for personal hygiene products intended for use in the shower.
In the particular case of a compressible tube, it should be noted that the sheet of material is notably cut at the level of the second end, called filling, which is closed by pinching and welding. Thus, swelling and deformation of the material could compromise the integrity of the tube closure, which is obviously not desirable.
This is one reason why this type of material is little used for such personal hygiene products, and in particular in the form of a compressible tube. There is therefore a need for a solution to improve the compatibility of this type of packaging with use and storage in high humidity environments.
To do this, the present invention proposes a packaging and dispensing assembly comprising a substantially tubular body obtained from a complex multilayer material, at least one inner layer of which is made from a hydrophilic material. The tubular body has at least one longitudinal end closed by flat junction between two opposite portions of said tubular body and at which the multilayer material has a clean edge directly exposing said layer of hydrophilic material.
In accordance with the present application, the clean edges of the flat junction are covered with a strip of impermeable material extending on either side of said flat junction, said strip of impermeable material being fixed in a leaktight manner at least water on the tubular body along the flat junction.
Thus, by planning to add a strip of impermeable material, that is to say not belonging to the initial structure of the complex material used for the production of the tubular body, and covering the clean edges of the cutout of multilayer material at the level of the end closed by a flat junction, it is possible to restore a protective seal and to isolate the layer of hydrophilic material from a highly humid external environment.
Advantageously, the strip of impermeable material is fixed by heat sealing. Such fixing is simple and reliable to make. In addition, a heat seal allows partial fusion of the material of the added strip with the material of an outer upper layer of the multilayer complex, which improves the seal.
Preferably, the strip of impermeable material is a strip of polyethylene. More preferably, it will be ensured that the added strip of material is in the same material as that of the outer layer of the body on which said strip is fixed or at least in a chemically compatible material for heat welding.
In order to guarantee optimum coverage and sealing, it is desirable that the strip of impermeable material covers at least the entire flat junction zone of the end of the tubular body.
According to a particular embodiment, the tubular body is made from a sheet of multilayer complex wound on itself, said sheet of multilayer complex material having a longitudinal edge-to-edge junction without overlapping. It will be noted that, just like the end cut of the tubular body, the longitudinal edges are also cut and likely to expose the hydrophilic material directly to the environment. These clean edges can be protected from the external environment by any means and in particular by such an edge-to-edge connection without overlap made using the Decoseam® process from AISA.
According to a particular embodiment, the hydrophilic material is a cellulosic material of the paper or cardboard type, preferably cardboard.
According to a particular embodiment, the complex multilayer material comprises an outer layer defining an inner surface of the tubular body which is impermeable at least to water, in particular a polyethylene layer.
Complementarily or alternatively, the complex multilayer material comprises an outer layer defining an outer peripheral surface of the tubular body which is impermeable at least to water, in particular a polyethylene layer.
Le matériau complexe multicouche pourra en particulier être un matériau Tétrapak®.The complex multilayer material may in particular be a Tetrapak® material.
According to a preferred embodiment, the tubular body has an open end, opposite the closed end, equipped with a dispensing head. Thus, the packaging and distribution assembly forms a compressible tube. It should be noted that the attached dispensing head protects the hydrophilic material exposed by a cut in the tube at the end opposite the end closed by the flat junction.
Preferably, the packaging and dispensing assembly contains a cosmetic personal hygiene product, in particular a product of the shower gel or shampoo type.
The present invention also relates to a method of manufacturing a dispensing and packaging assembly according to the present application, said method comprising the steps aimed at:
- providing a packaging and dispensing assembly comprising a substantially tubular body obtained from a complex multilayer material, an inner layer of which is made from a hydrophilic material and having at least one longitudinal end closed by a flat junction between two portions opposite said tubular body and at which the multilayer material has a clean edge directly exposing said layer of hydrophilic material,
- apply a strip of impermeable material on a first side of the flat junction along the latter and thermally weld it to the body on the first side of the flat junction,
- Fold down a portion of the strip of material on a second opposite side of the flat junction, covering the clean edges and heat weld it to the body on the second side of the flat junction.
According to a first variant embodiment, the attached strip of impermeable material has a length substantially equal to the length of the flat junction.
According to a second variant, the attached strip of impermeable material has a length greater than the length of the flat junction, the method comprising an additional step aimed at folding the lateral parts of the strip protruding from the flat junction, on one side of the junction flat, the side parts themselves being welded to the band part already welded to the body. The length of the strip of material may for example exceed 1 to 15 mm on either side of the flat junction.
is a schematic representation in longitudinal section of the steps of a method of manufacturing a packaging and dispensing assembly according to the invention,
Figure 1 shows the steps for making a packaging and dispensing assembly according to the present application.
The method comprises a first step of supplying a packaging and dispensing assembly of the compressible tube type 1. The compressible tube 1 comprises a substantially tubular body 1a obtained from a complex multilayer material of the Tetrapak ® type, an inner layer of which is made from a hydrophilic, cellulosic material, in this case cardboard. The multilayer material also comprises an upper outer layer (forming the outer surface of the tube) polyethylene and a lower outer layer (forming the inner surface of the tube) polyethylene.
Conventionally, said tubular body has a first longitudinal end closed by flat junction 2 between two opposite portions of said tubular body and a second opposite open end equipped with a dispensing head 3 made of plastic material. The flat junction is obtained in a known way by pinching the tube (with possible embossing, "crimping") at its end and heating to obtain a heat seal of the opposite portions of the tubular body pinched against each other.
According to a usual manufacturing process, the complex multilayer material is cut to the desired length of tube and has at its ends clean edges 2a directly exposing said layer of cardboard. While the clean edge of the second end is protected by the added dispensing head, the clean edge 2a located at the end closed by the flat junction 2 is exposed to ambient humidity.
In accordance with the present application, a strip 5 of impermeable material is provided, in this case a strip of polyethylene, intended to be attached to the flat junction so as to cover and protect the raw edges. The strip 5 of material has a length substantially equal to the length of the flat junction.
Une portion de la bande de matériau 5 est ensuite rabattue sur un deuxième côté opposé de la jonction plate en recouvrant les bords francs et est soudée thermiquement sur le corps sur le deuxième côté de la jonction plate 2.To do this, the strip 5 of material is applied to a first side of the flat junction 2 along the latter and is thermally welded to the body on the first side of the flat junction 2. A portion of the strip of material 5 is then folded over on a second opposite side of the flat junction, covering the clean edges and is thermally welded to the body on the second side of the flat junction 2.
Préférentiellement, la bande 5 de matériau imperméable recouvre ainsi la totalité de la zone de jonction plate 2 de l’extrémité du corps tubulaire 1a.In this way, the strip of material 5 overlaps the flat junction 2 and covers the raw edges 2a, the hydrophilic inner layer thus being protected from ambient humidity. Preferably, the strip 5 of impermeable material thus covers the whole of the flat junction zone 2 of the end of the tubular body 1a.
According to a variant of the method represented in FIG. 2, a strip of material 5′ is added which has a length greater than the length of the flat junction 2. Consequently, the method comprises an additional step aimed at folding the lateral parts of the band 5' protruding from the flat junction, on one side of the flat junction 2, the side parts being themselves welded to the part of the band already welded to the body.
