Description
The invention applies to the field of motor vehicle lighting and, in particular, to the ventilation of lighting module housings.
More specifically, the invention relates to a ventilation device for the rear light housings making it possible to prevent condensation on the translucent glass intended to close off said housing.
Traditionally, motor vehicles are equipped, on their rear face, with signaling light modules (brake lights, reversing lights, etc.) integrated into one or more housings.
These modules generally comprise several electronic and optical components and, in particular, lamps (LED, halogen, etc.) associated with masks intended to focus the light beams.
However, the rear lights, unlike the front lights (headlamps, DRL, etc.), do not receive an air flow which would dissipate the mist or dew which tends to settle, by a phenomenon of condensation, on the glass ensuring the watertight closure of the case.
However, nowadays it is becoming undesirable or very difficult to provide vents on the ice to prevent moisture condensation.
Indeed, on the one hand, for reasons of style, openings leading to the glass or around the case would be visible from the outside and are therefore considered unsightly.
On the other hand, due to the greater compactness of the rear light housings, the circulation of air in the interior volume is very low, which promotes condensation. However, the available interior space being very small, it leaves little freedom to provide internal aeration or ventilation holes.
Furthermore, even if the taillight housings had such holes, they would present the risk of creating "light leaks", that is to say, a parasitic diffusion of derived light beams which are likely to degrade or interfere with the lighting function.
The patent US6045248 describes a lighting module for a motor vehicle comprising a housing enclosing a lamp body and a front lens. A reflector carrying a light source is disposed away from the lamp body and ventilation holes are made to prevent dew formation. However, the structure and arrangement of these ventilation means do not prevent light leaks through the ventilation holes.
In this context, the invention aims to provide a technical solution making it possible to ensure ventilation inside a compact rear light housing and without creating stray light leaks.
This object is achieved by means of a device for ventilating a motor vehicle rear light housing closed off by a glass and containing at least one light bar arranged facing the glass and whose outer face is framed by a mask , characterized in that said mask is formed of a flange comprising an upper wall in which is provided a longitudinal opening receiving said strip and which is extended by a transverse wall extending rearward and connecting, via a zone of ventilation provided with through holes, with an inclined lower wall.
According to an advantageous characteristic, the transverse wall extends under said light bar.
According to another characteristic, the lower wall is offset from the front with respect to the upper wall.
According to a specific variant embodiment, the end edge of the upper wall is spaced from the wall of the casing.
According to yet another characteristic, the orifices are formed at least partially in the thickness of the transverse wall.
According to a preferred embodiment of the device of the invention, the orifices comprise an air inlet duct located at the rear of the flange and opening into an air outlet slot located opposite the glass.
This slot is preferably provided between an internal shoulder of the air inlet duct and the upper edge of the inclined wall so as to prevent light leaks.
According to another variant, the inclined lower wall has a longitudinal opening intended to receive a second light bar.
Another object of the invention is a motor vehicle rear light module, characterized in that it comprises a housing provided with a ventilation device having the characteristics mentioned above.
Yet another object of the invention is a motor vehicle equipped with a signaling module comprising a housing provided with a ventilation device as defined above.
The device of the invention ensures a particularly efficient circulation of the air inside even a very compact case, which makes it possible to avoid the presence of fog and/or dew on the glass.
In addition, the device of the invention is particularly discreet and generates no stray light leakage.
The device of the invention thus contributes to improving the quality by guaranteeing optimal signaling of the vehicle even in the presence of high humidity and without negative impact on the style of the vehicle.
The device of the invention also has an economic advantage by making it possible to dispense with the use of an anti-condensation varnish.
Other characteristics and advantages of the invention will become apparent on reading the description which follows, with reference to the appended figures detailed below.
The right side of the figures here corresponds to the rear of the vehicle and, for greater clarity, identical or similar elements are identified by identical reference signs in all of the figures.
Naturally, the embodiments of the device of the invention illustrated by the figures presented above and described below, are given only by way of non-limiting examples. It is explicitly provided that it is possible to propose and combine different modes to propose others.
The invention relates to the field of motor vehicle signaling and, more particularly, to the ventilation of rear light housings in order to avoid the presence of fog or dew on the glass closing the housing.
This mask is, traditionally, intended to concentrate and, if necessary, to focus the light beam so as to avoid or at least to limit the parasitic edge effects liable to disturb the signaling function.
The end edge of the upper wall 1a is here spaced from the wall of the box so as to create a first passage B1 for the circulation of air in the upper part of the box B.
The upper wall 1a is extended in the lower part by a transverse wall 1b extending towards the rear and here under the light bar S1 and parallel to it.
The transverse wall 1b is connected, via a ventilation zone 11 provided with through holes 110, to an inclined lower wall 1c. These orifices 110 form a second passage B2 for the circulation of air under the light strip S1, as illustrated by the arrows in FIG. 1A.
The lower wall 1c is offset from the front with respect to the upper wall 1a and here has a longitudinal opening 12 intended to receive a second light source also in the form of a light strip S2. The lower wall 1c is extended, as for the upper wall 1a, by another transverse wall 1d extending rearwards under the strip S2, as illustrated by FIG. 1A.
As illustrated in detail in Figure 1B, the orifices 110 are formed at least partially in the thickness of the transverse wall 1b. More specifically, these orifices 110 comprise an air inlet duct 110a located at the rear of the flange 1 and opening into an air outlet slot 110b located opposite the glass G.
The slot 110b is made between an internal shoulder 111 of the air inlet duct 110a and the upper edge of the inclined wall, thus forming a low wall making it possible to prevent light leaks. The second passage for air circulation is therefore very discreet as shown in figure 2 in front view.
