L’invention a trait à une cellule pour batterie au lithium comprenant une électrode négative, une électrode positive et un électrolyte disposé entre ladite électrode négative et ladite électrode positive, l’ensemble formé par l’électrode négative, l’électrode positive et l’électrolyte étant disposé dans une gaine extérieure, caractérisée en ce que la gaine extérieure comprend un matériau thermiquement expansible et/ou est revêtue, sur tout ou partie de sa surface externe, d’une couche comprenant un matériau thermiquement expansible.
