Method of personalizing an item for identification purposes, and corresponding personalized item

The invention relates to a process for personalizing an article such as a jewel, a piece of clothing, a fashion accessory, an article of leather goods, an article of luggage, an article of eyewear, a watch article or other customizable item.

The invention finds a first application with items of the jewelry type, such as rings, bangles, bracelets, necklaces, pendants and body jewelry.

The invention finds a second application with articles of the clothing type, such as T-shirts - whether they are short-sleeved, mid-length sleeves or long-sleeved -, sleeveless tank tops, pullovers, sweatshirts , pants, shorts, skirts, dresses, underwear - such as underpants, boxers, briefs, panties, undershirts, underpants, tights, stockings, bras, swimsuits, socks -, blousons, jackets, coats, vests and parkas.

The invention finds a third application with articles of the fashion accessory type, such as headgear - caps, hats and beanies -, gloves, shoes, scarves, ties and barrettes.

The invention finds a fourth application with articles of the leather goods type, such as bags - handbags, backpacks, banana bags, travel bags -, wallets, checkbook holders and card holders.

The invention finds a fifth application with items of the luggage item type, such as flexible or rigid suitcases, briefcases and trunks.

The invention finds a sixth application with articles of the eyewear type, such as eyeglasses and sunglasses.

The invention finds a seventh application with articles of the horological article type, such as watches.

The invention finds an eighth application in articles of the customizable article type, other than those described above, such as for example pens, telephone cases, and other personal articles devoid of their own means of identification.

To personalize an article, for subsequent purposes of identification, it is conventional today to affix an identification mark to this article, for example in the form of a label, an engraving, an , with mentions of an identification number or the identity of its owner. However, such an identification mark can easily be removed and therefore provides no security. Moreover, such an identification mark is generally not very discreet and often harms the aesthetic integrity of the article.

The invention therefore proposes a method for personalizing an article which allows reliable and non-falsifiable identification.

Another object of the invention is to offer a personalization of an article which offers an aesthetic and sentimental aspect for an article worn by its owner.

To this end, the invention proposes a process for personalizing an article, of the jewelry, garment, fashion accessory, leather goods article, luggage article, eyewear article, watchmaking article or other customizable article, said method customization using the following steps:
- preparation of an identification composition comprising a base solution in which at least one DNA sample and at least one dye are diluted, so that said identification composition has a personal identification color code;
- sealed embedding of said identification composition on the article, inside a sealed container delimited by walls, at least one of which has a transparent zone allowing optical colorimetric analysis of the identification composition to measure the personal identification color code without opening the container.

Thus, the invention proposes to personalize the article with the embedding of an identification composition on the article, where this identification composition will offer two distinct means of identification which are the personal identification color code , and the DNA sample.

In this way, this personalized article becomes for its owner a personal object, which presents an undeniable sentimental side because the origin of the DNA can be his or that of a loved one (companion, companion, child, friend, etc. .) of a personality he likes, or a beloved animal. The invention therefore makes it possible to make an article intended to be worn more personal and sentimental by injecting it with a DNA sample.

In addition, the components of the identification composition (base solution, DNA sample, dye, other possible additives) will provide a personal identification color code which can be determined during a subsequent identification procedure, by an optical colorimetric analysis through the transparent zone, without having to open the sealed container, and then be compared with a database which associates an article and therefore an owner with each personal identification color code. If necessary and as a last resort in an extreme situation, it remains possible to open a sealed container in order to carry out an analysis of the DNA sample.

According to one characteristic, the DNA sample is a sample of blood, saliva, sweat, skin, fingernail or hair.

According to one possibility, the base solution used during the step of preparing the identification composition is an oily solution.

The advantage of using an oily solution is that it has a higher boiling point allowing heating, especially if the sealing operation of the container requires heating.

In a particular embodiment, the tight embedding of the identification composition implements an introduction of the identification composition inside the container via an orifice provided in one of the walls, followed by a tight plugging of the orifice by a plug introduced into said orifice.

According to one feature, the plug is sealed by gluing inside the orifice.

According to another characteristic, the stopper is transparent and/or the orifice is provided in a transparent wall

In a particular embodiment, the article is a jewel and the container forms at least in part a jewel body.

Thus, the identification composition is integrated directly into the jewel, with the container forming part of the jewel.

According to one possibility, the container is of annular shape and forms an annular jewel body, such as for example a ring body.

According to a variant, the container is attached fixedly to the article.

Thus, in this variant, the identification composition is integrated into a container separate from the article, and it is this container which is attached to the article.

The invention also relates to an article of the jewel, clothing, fashion accessory, leather goods article, luggage article, eyewear article, watchmaking article or other customizable article, in which said article is personalized by setting implementation of a personalization method according to the invention, so that an identification composition is embedded on the article, inside a sealed container delimited by walls, one of which at least has a zone transparent, wherein said identification composition comprises a base solution in which are diluted at least one DNA sample and at least one dye, so that said identification composition has a personal identification color code.

The method for personalizing an article 1, 2 according to the invention implements the following two steps:
- preparation of an identification composition 4 comprising a base solution in which at least one DNA sample and at least one dye are diluted;
- production of a container 3 delimited by walls 30, where the container 3 is hollow to form an internal volume 31, and where at least one of the walls 30 has a transparent zone, and where one of the walls 30 has an orifice 32 opening into this internal volume 31 inside the container 3;
- introduction of the identification composition 4 inside the container 3, and more precisely inside the internal volume 32, via this orifice 32;
- sealed embedding of the identification composition 4 inside the container 3 with the sealed plugging of the orifice 32 by a plug 33 introduced into this orifice 32.

The DNA sample is for example a sample of blood, saliva, sweat, skin, nails or hair reduced to powder.

This DNA sample is therefore diluted in a base solution comprising at least one oily compound, and preferably an oily base solution; an oily solution being suitable in the event of additional welding or bonding steps due to a higher boiling temperature during the manufacture/design of the container 3 and/or the article 1, 2.

The basic solution also comprises at least one dye, for example red in color to resume blood staining.

As visible in Figure 4, the introduction of the identification composition 4 inside the container 3 can be done for example by means of a syringe S previously filled with the identification composition 4.

Thus, the identification composition 4 has a personal identification color code, this personal identification color code being a function both of the base solution (amount depending on the volume to be filled in the container 3), of the DNA sample (type, quantity, color, etc.), of the dye (color of the dye, amount of the dye) and also of the walls 30 of the container 3 (material of the walls, color of the walls, optical and reflective properties of the walls , etc.). For example, for a hair-type DNA sample, this DNA sample is powdered in the base solution and it will influence the color of the identification composition 4 according to its color (blonde hair, brown hair, red, gray hair, white hair, etc.) and according to the quantity of hair powder which will depend in particular on the length of the hair or hairs taken.

Therefore, this personal identification color code serves as an identification marker, in addition to identification by the DNA sample. Indeed, an identification based on the color can be made by an optical colorimetric analysis, through the transparent zone of one of the walls 30 of the container 3, without having to open the container 3.

It is possible for at least one of the walls 30 to be completely transparent, for example being made of a glass material, such as sapphire crystal. It is also possible for several walls 30, or even all the walls 30, to be completely transparent, for example being made of a glass material, such as sapphire crystal. It is also possible for the stopper 33 to be transparent, for example being made of a glass material, such as sapphire crystal.

It is possible for the container 3 to be formed from a block, just as it is possible for the walls 30 to be assembled and fixed together, for example by gluing.

In the example of Figures 1 to 5, the article is a jewel and in particular a ring 1 (or alternatively bangle or cuff bracelet), and the container 3 is annular in shape and constitutes a ring body (or in alternatively a snap ring body or a cuff body). In other words, the ring 1 is formed from the container 3 of annular shape, where this container 3 is delimited by annular walls 30 which frame the internal volume 31, also annular, in which the identification composition 4 is placed, and where the stopper 33 is mounted and sealed in leaktight manner in the orifice 32. Thus, the stopper 33 cannot be removed without visible degradation or at least partial destruction of the container 3, and therefore here of the jewel.

The stopper 33 here has the shape of a drop, without this shape limiting the invention. Thus, the identification composition 4 is integrated directly into the ring 1 (or alternatively into the bangle bracelet or the cuff bracelet).

In the example of Figures 6 to 8, the article is a leather goods article and in particular a bag 2, and the container 3 is attached fixedly to this bag 2. To do this, the container 3 is in the form of a a medallion which is attached and fixed to the bag 2, either in a hole of a shape complementary to the medallion previously cut in a wall of the bag 2, or above a wall of the bag 2.

In this case, the personalization method implements a step of fixing the container 3 to the bag. Thus, the identification composition 4 is integrated into the container 3 which is then attached to the bag 2.

It is also possible for this container 3 forming a medallion to be embedded or sealed on the article 2 such as the bag, and this before it is filled with the identification composition 4 and the cap 33 is sealed so that the bag is identifiable as previously described. It is just as conceivable that this container 3 forming a medallion is provided for personalization of the article by being removably fixed to the article, allowing this container 3 to be fixed on different articles according to the choice of its owner.

Claims (10)

Method for personalizing an article (1; 2), of the jewel, garment, fashion accessory, leather goods article, luggage article, eyewear article, watchmaking article or other customizable article type, said personalization method involving implement the following steps:
- preparation of an identification composition (4) comprising a base solution in which are diluted at least one DNA sample and at least one dye, so that said identification composition (4) has a color code of personal identification;
- sealed embedding of said identification composition (4) on the article (1; 2), inside a sealed container (3) delimited by walls (30) of which at least one has a zone transparent allowing an optical colorimetric analysis of the identification composition (4) to measure the personal identification color code without opening the container (3). Personalization method according to claim 1, wherein the DNA sample is a blood, saliva, sweat, skin, fingernail or hair sample. Personalization method according to either of Claims 1 and 2, in which the base solution used during the step of preparing the identification composition (4) is an oily solution. Personalization method according to any one of the preceding claims, in which the tight embedding of the identification composition (4) implements an introduction of the identification composition (4) inside the container (3) via an orifice (32) provided in one of its walls (30), followed by sealing of the orifice (32) by a stopper (33) introduced into said orifice (32). Personalization method according to claim 4, in which the cap (33) is sealed by gluing inside the orifice (32). Personalization method according to either of Claims 4 and 5, in which the stopper (33) is transparent and/or the orifice (32) is provided in a transparent wall (30). Personalization process according to any one of Claims 1 to 6, in which the article is a piece of jewelery (1) and the container (3) at least partly forms a body of the piece of jewellery. Personalization method according to claim 7, in which the container (3) is of annular shape and forms an annular jewel body, such as for example a ring body. Personalization method according to any one of Claims 1 to 6, in which the container (3) is fixedly attached to the article (2). Article (1; 2) of the jewel, garment, fashion accessory, leather goods article, luggage article, eyewear article, watchmaking article or other customizable article, in which said article (1; 2) is personalized by the implementation of a personalization method according to any one of claims 1 to 9, such that an identification composition (4) is embedded on the article, inside a container (3) sealed delimited by walls (30), at least one of which has a transparent zone, where said identification composition (4) comprises a base solution in which at least one DNA sample and at least one dye are diluted, so that said identification composition (4) has a personal identification color code.
