Description
The invention relates to a method for producing a motor vehicle engine cover screen and a screen produced by such a method.
A cover screen can in particular have an aesthetic function which is to hide the motor from the view of the user, and also an acoustic protection function.
Il est connu de mettre en œuvre un procédé de réalisation d’un écran de recouvrement de moteur de véhicule automobile, ledit procédé comprenant les étapes suivantes :It is known to implement a method for producing a motor vehicle engine cover screen, said method comprising the following steps:
- disposer dans un moule de thermocompression une couche de revêtement et une couche fibreuse destinée à former une coque, ladite couche fibreuse étant à base de fibres de verre pourvues d’un agent thermodurcissable de liaison desdites fibres entre elles, placing in a thermocompression mold a coating layer and a fibrous layer intended to form a shell, said fibrous layer being based on glass fibers provided with a thermosetting agent for binding said fibers together,
- réaliser une compression à chaud de l’ensemble de manière à comprimer ladite couche fibreuse et à activer ledit liant pour que ladite couche conserve sa géométrie comprimée.carry out a hot compression of the assembly so as to compress said fibrous layer and to activate said binder so that said layer retains its compressed geometry.
However, with such a way of proceeding, the coating layer, in particular when it has a thin thickness, runs the risk of showing markings due to the surface irregularities of the corresponding face of the fibrous layer.
L’invention a pour but de pallier cet inconvénient. The object of the invention is to overcome this drawback.
A cet effet, et selon un premier aspect, l’invention propose un procédé de réalisation d’un écran de recouvrement de moteur de véhicule automobile, ledit procédé comprenant les étapes suivantes :To this end, and according to a first aspect, the invention proposes a method for producing a motor vehicle engine cover screen, said method comprising the following steps:
- prévoir une couche de lissage à base de mousse de polyuréthanne de masse volumique comprise entre 8 et 15 g/l, ladite mousse étant apte à être comprimée à chaud pour conserver sa géométrie comprimée, ladite couche présentant une première et une deuxième face, provide a smoothing layer based on polyurethane foam with a density of between 8 and 15 g/l, said foam being able to be hot-compressed to retain its compressed geometry, said layer having a first and a second face,
- disposer ladite couche de lissage dans un moule de thermocompression, ladite couche étant disposée entre une couche de revêtement, disposée en regard de ladite première face, et une couche fibreuse destinée à former une coque, disposée en regard de ladite deuxième face, ladite couche fibreuse étant à base de fibres de verre pourvues d’un agent thermodurcissable de liaison desdites fibres entre elles, placing said smoothing layer in a thermocompression mould, said layer being placed between a coating layer, placed opposite said first face, and a fibrous layer intended to form a shell, placed opposite said second face, said fibrous layer being based on glass fibers provided with a thermosetting agent for bonding said fibers together,
-
- compressing said fibrous layer and activating said binder so that said layer retains its compressed geometry,
- compressing said smoothing layer so that its thickness becomes less than 1 mm over at least 90% of its surface, said second face fitting under the effect of the compression the surface condition of the corresponding face of said fibrous layer and said first face remaining substantially smooth, so that said coating layer is not marked by the surface irregularities of said corresponding face.
The fact of using for the smoothing layer a foam of such low density makes it possible to achieve a very significant crushing of said layer, which allows said layer not to substantially increase the thickness of the screen compared to a screen that would lack it.
In other words, the smoothing layer has the role of filling the hollows generated by the surface irregularities of the face of the fibrous layer on which the smoothing layer is applied, while generating substantially no extra thickness for the 'screen ; this means that the thickness of the smoothing layer, facing the bumps generated by the surface irregularities of the face of the fibrous layer on which the smoothing layer is applied, is very low, for example of the order of 0.5mm.
In addition, due to its very low density, the smoothing layer only weighs down the screen very marginally.
According to another aspect, the invention proposes a screen obtained by such a process.
Other features and advantages of the invention will appear in the following description, made with reference to the attached figure,
En référence à la figure, on décrit un procédé de réalisation d’un écran 1 de recouvrement de moteur de véhicule automobile, ledit procédé comprenant les étapes suivantes :With reference to the figure, a method for producing a motor vehicle engine cover screen 1 is described, said method comprising the following steps:

- disposer ladite couche de lissage dans un moule de thermocompression, ladite couche étant disposée entre une couche de revêtement 5, disposée en regard de ladite première face, et une couche fibreuse 6 destinée à former une coque 7, disposée en regard de ladite deuxième face, ladite couche fibreuse étant à base de fibres de verre pourvues d’un agent thermodurcissable de liaison desdites fibres entre elles, placing said smoothing layer in a thermocompression mould, said layer being placed between a covering layer 5, placed opposite said first face, and a fibrous layer 6 intended to form a shell 7, placed opposite said second face, said fibrous layer being based on glass fibers provided with a thermosetting agent for bonding said fibers together,
-

According to one embodiment, the covering layer 5 is based on nonwoven or fabric.
According to one embodiment, the coating layer 5 has a thickness of between 0.2 and 3 mm before transformation, knowing that such a low thickness could lead to a risk of marking of said layer in the absence of smoothing layer 2.
According to one embodiment, the fibrous layer 6 has a thickness of between 10 and 30 mm before transformation.
On décrit enfin un écran 1 fabriqué par un tel procédé, ledit écran comprenant disposées l’une sur l’autre :Finally, a screen 1 manufactured by such a process is described, said screen comprising arranged one on top of the other:
- une couche de revêtement 5,a coating layer 5,
- une couche de lissage 2 à base de mousse de polyuréthanne présentant une épaisseur inférieure à 1mm sur au moins 90% de sa surface, ladite couche présentant une première face 3 tournée vers ladite couche de revêtement,a smoothing layer 2 based on polyurethane foam having a thickness of less than 1 mm over at least 90% of its surface, said layer having a first face 3 facing said covering layer,
