L'invention porte principalement sur une machine électrique tournante (10) pour véhicule automobile, caractérisée en ce qu'elle comporte: - un rotor (11) et un stator (15) séparés entre eux par un entrefer (13) ayant une épaisseur (E), - ledit stator (15) comportant un corps (16) et un bobinage (17) comprenant au moins un groupe d'enroulements triphasé, le groupe d'enroulements étant couplé en triangle, - ledit rotor (11) ayant un corps (31) réalisé dans un matériau magnétique et comportant un nombre pair de pôles (P), chaque pôle (P) étant formé par au moins deux aimants permanents (37), qui en section, définissent une forme comportant au moins un V, - ledit rotor (11) comportant au moins deux zones (Z1, Z2) de retrait de matériau magnétique, les deux zones (Z1, Z2) étant disposées entre les deux aimants permanents (37) d'un pôle (P) et une périphérie externe du rotor (11).
