Une unité de refroidissement (1) pour véhicule automobile comprend au moins : un premier échangeur de chaleur (2) et un deuxième échangeur de chaleur (3) en série le long d'un axe longitudinal (X) et espacés de sorte à créer un passage (4) apte à être emprunté par au moins un flux d'air (FA1, FA2, FA3), une arrivée d'air latérale ménagée entre les échangeurs de chaleur (2, 3) et débouchant dans le passage (4), et un dispositif de ventilation configuré pour permettre deux modes d'alimentation en air : un premier mode permettant d'alimenter successivement par un premier flux d'air (FA1) les premier et deuxième échangeurs de chaleur, et un deuxième mode dans lequel un deuxième flux d'air (FA2) alimente le premier échangeur de chaleur et dans lequel un troisième flux d'air (FA3) alimente le deuxième échangeur de chaleur, les deuxième et troisième flux d'air étant distincts.
